Liesl Long Chaintreuil's
Art Background

Starting as a young child, Liesl showed an interest in designing fashion presented through her unique illustrative styles. Her interest in pursuing this field as a career led her to the Visual Arts Magnet at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, KY, where she was given the opportunity to further develop her passion and creative skills.

Upon graduation in 2005, Liesl was awarded the "Fashion Designer of Tomorrow" national scholarship by the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, CA. Moving to LA, Liesl continued to paint while earning her degree in Textile Design with a minor in Fashion Illustration.

Following graduation from FIDM, Liesl immediately went to work for a textile design company in LA, designing unique textile prints for global fashion companies, including Lucky Brand, Brighton and David Meister.

During this time, Liesl also started painting unique and fanciful children's art for Colleen Karis Designs which are nationally sold in TJ MAXX Home Goods.

Returning to Louisville in 2011, Liesl continues her art career painting as a freelance children's and fashion illustration artist, creating commissioned art, and giving art lessons to children and adults. Her paintings can be found for sale in local art galleries and boutiques.

"I love to reach out and share my artistic gifts with others. It makes me feel honored. That is what makes art so special-it unites and connects the hearts and minds of everyone it touches."
